Pulsating Punjab

'The land confluncing five rivers,
The state from rest all which differs.
Enshrined with the Golden Temple holy,
Dwells in various exuberant molly.'

Punjab, a state bordering Pakistan, is the heart of Indian community. The word 'Punjab' has its origin from the deep roots of a compound of two Persian words, panj (five) and āb (water), thus signifying the land of five rivers (the Beas, Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi, and Sutlej). The word’s origin can perhaps be traced to 'panchananda', Sanskrit for “five rivers”.

Apart from their daily hustle and bustle, the residers of Punjab are engaged in the primary sector, which accounts for a predominant segment of the state’s gross product. Punjab produces a vital portion of India’s food grain and contributes a major part of its wheat and rice. The agricultural advancements and productivity of the state is attributable to Green Revolution which has its standstill even now.

Ballads of love and war, fairs and festivals, dance, music, and Punjabi literature are amongst the characteristic expressions of the state’s culture. Exploring Punjab, particularly Amritsar; and missing or skipping onto Harmindar Sahib or The Golden Temple is a real goosehead for this *real era's reel people*. Its chief motifs, blending Hindu and the Muslim style as the dome and the geometric design, are prominent in the vanity there.

Punjab, no doubt is my *leiblingsplatz*. I lack words, I run out of thoughts when I'm to compose on it. How can I pen out the beauty of such an awe-taking and mesmerising state? Still there's lot to be poured, but cease now its time you explore!
