ᗪIY EᗪᑌᑕᗩTIOᑎ

- 𝘛𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘳-𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘯𝘦'𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴.

With a digitally advancing world, there pertains to a need to distil the rote methods of education and substitute them. The DIY Model of Education is a nep-deterministic approach to traditional schools of learning. As a DIY learner, you take control of your education and decide the subjects you want to study and the skills you want to acquire.

As the name says, DIY i.e.; Do It Yourself Education. It revolves around, Exploring, Storing, Implementing, Exfoliating. And, the cycle continues. This concept of education has both pros and cons, one should be well-briefed with them.
𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐒:
𝟏. 𝐇𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐲𝐞: Aim for what you want and hit it directly without meandering about it. Be goal-driven.
𝟐. 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭-𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞: While colleges all over are switching to hybrid learning, DIY education can give you a hands-on experience of what college learning will be like. Or, shall I say;
𝑫𝑰𝒀 𝑬𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 = 𝑴𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆?

Along with good virtues, what also sails along the shore are the evil virtues. Certainly, one cannot blindfold the cons of DIY education.

𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒:
𝟏. 𝐀 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞: DIY education requires an extensive level of zeal and personal drive. If you choose a discipline, you need to be disciplined. Have a mind-map and act accordingly. Haste always leads to waste.
𝟐. 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧❜𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥: Self-directed learning does not apply to every profession. While you can be a self-taught dancer, it is unlikely to be a doctor that way too.

So, in this Aatmanirbhar Bharat, if you choose Aatmanirbhar Education or DIY Education be cautious. And, keep a checklist handy:
1. 𝑬𝒗𝒐𝒍𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆
2. 𝑩𝒆 𝒖𝒑𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅, 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅.
3. 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕, 𝑬𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒆, 𝑹𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕.
