The Sorcery behind Numbers

Image
Segregation has always been a culture since times immemorial. Inscribing tags and imbibing numbers on people.  It starts right from the preliminary years, from the birth cradle to the walls of school. Roll Numbers outgrow these walls into numbers with genres! Numbers with a menu card- Waist Size Numbers, Refugee Numbers, Non-Identical Identification Numbers and what not!  "We are not numbers, we are Human Beings. And, we all have stories."  And, that's an err humans interweave misinterpretations with. Folks and folks cannot be painted by a common brush. Every stroke is different, non identical. Then afterall we are Humans, not 'numbers'. Or is it that the classification of people into number biases makes the society a bit more homogeneous? No, I don't think so. Every individual is graceful and worthy enough to be admired for the qualities it possess, then why does the need to cover the masks of negligence on our visages arises?  You are not an err, you were de...

Adopt, Don't Shop!

- a step towards equating the status of animals at par to humans.  Mahatma Gandhi once quoted, "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." How aptly does this saying juts in today's scenario wherein people tend to witness the zen level bloodshed, rage and inhuman dearth. Imagine how cruel it would be if we kill our younger ones before birth?  Animals are mortal beings, not non-livings. Akin to humans, they also possess a body, organs, life, and vitally emotions! (Prolly, more than Humans, I muse sometimes). Animals are an integral part of this gigantic puzzle, called, 'World'. And, inflicting brutality on them will devoid our puzzle of its essential element. "Unhewn bits of any act whether Bravery or Novelty does not heed any penny, rather reciprocates into an enemy."  We, humans are ensnared into leading a life, wherein people tend to buy showcases. Oh, sorry, my folly 'pets'. But, isn...

A Lone Heart Moans

Image
I sit by the window pane, To watch the dewdrops drain. Aroused by the sound the guitar strings make meanwhile, Cacophony for some while a melodious tune wrapped in bewitching bewildered for a musicophile. Not a melomaniac, but crystally an adorer, Music lifts up thy mood in a hover. And, as the monsoon wraps by, And its Autumn to shed, I start to stir the window pane down, For until it's next monsoon rep.

The Jar of Hope

Image
Hope is a powerful antidote to feelings of despair and desolation, Hope is a poignant weapon to conquer over stagnation. A beam of optimism to tear away the charcoal black clouds, An unmuted voice, which in itself has a cacophony so loud. When life is bleak and gloom engulfs your dreams, Solace in hope you seek for overpacked zeal in it beams. Hope they say is the language of the world, For those devoid of fundamental necessities, also seek solace in this mere word. Hope they say is the only way out, To row your boat away from the stormy mouth. Hope they say is the power of deprived, Their roots long ago in the world thrived. For the only powerful language is Hope, Don't let it vanish within a jolt; Seize the synergy, capture it in a bolt.

HAPPINESS: A Mirage?

Image
Ever wondered how deceiving the idea of happiness is and just how detrimental it can be if left unchecked.  Most of us, at one point or another, have subscribed to the notion that "Happiness" is the only North Star in their lives.  It's that lingering feeling that begins to make you wonder whether it's even a real thing or not. It's when you begin to wonder if you've been bamboozled into thinking that you could do Step 1 then Step 2 then Step 3 to be happy.   The problem with constantly looking for happiness is that it makes us disregard and invalidate the entire spectrum of emotions we are capable of feeling and experiencing. This never-ending search puts blinders around our eyes (you know, those things put on horses' eyes so that they keep walking forward and don’t get distracted) and creates a tunnel vision that doesn’t allow us to acknowledge everything around us.  I don’t subscribe to positivity-for-the-sake-of-positivity because I now know how import...

To Every Soul, The world's finest perfumes comes all along through the valleys which themselves lie in degraded areas, with a pungent and foul smell. But, thy beauty never fails to cascade us into its bewitching trap. Allure! Remember- "How so ever be the origin, the destination gets enchanting, always." Beacause, it gets sprinkled with the magic and believes you withhold all along, vehemently. For an instance, A seed of an Apple Tree may be so small, insignificant, and odorless. But, the product it bears- Apple, is heavenly. Isn't it? The bright red, juicy, sweet, and the large fruit you gulp in a trice. What triggers now in your trail of thought is, "Ah! How heavenly." And not, "Urgh, Look at it though it seems perfe to now, but its origin? A seed! That too colorless, odorless, tasteless. No, no, no I won't eat it." Obviously, because after all its the product we chase not the origin. Similarly, people tend to focus only on what they see. N...

Religion is not Cultural Conditioning

Image
The word ‘dharma’ hails its origin from the roots meaning, ‘that which gives support to and maintains everything.’ It is not a concept, but that which sustains every concept. That which supports this vastness, the galaxy, the universe, and the endless expanse of the existence. Religion is not related to concepts. Because concepts, they are discrete, they are two flips of a same coin. While on one hand concepts; are intellectual ideas.  Religion is the name for that essential truth which sustains everything, without which everything would certainly disperse. That which suffixes all, which is the totality of all, and which bridges all. It is like making a garland of flowers. A heap of flowers here and there a garland. What is the difference? The pile is chaotic. No flower is connected with any other flower; all the flowers are disconnected. The garland is strung on a thread. The thread is not visible, it is hidden in the flowers, but it joins one flower to another. The law of connect...
